Vrishabhavathi

Vrishabhavathi  is  a  key tributary of the Arkavathi. She is formed by the large catchment area to the west of Bengaluru, where several smaller keres and kaluves feed into her. Once a lifeline, she now bears the burden of carrying the toxic wastewater of one-third of Bengaluru.

Yet, her influence persists. She bears witness to the struggles of those who depend on her—farmers downstream, whose lands are poisoned by her waters; dhobis, whose livelihoods have been pushed to the margins and the biodiversity that still clings to her banks.

This project gives agency to these unheard voices.
